There is an all way stop sign at the intersection of Stone Oak Parkway and Arrow Hill...today, 4 police officers were directing north and southbound Stone Oak Parkway traffic to drive without stopping...they were there at 6:40 am, and when I passed by again at 4:45 pm...

No construction or other obstacles in sight. I have never seen this before. Could this be a traffic test for removing the stop signs entirely? (They were necessary when the speed limit was 50 and that was one of the only intersections in the area, but now the traffic just backs up...)

Those stupid stop signs need to be removed for a very long time. No traffic tests needed.

Yes, back in the early 90's. Very few neighborhoods at that time.

Agreed. I'm hoping that's why they were there. I have never seen something like that before, though.

What a glorious day it would be if those stop signs were removed. I never understood why the city didn't just put a light there if they were so concerned with that neighborhood being able to enter/exit Stone Oak Parkway easily.

If you look at the maps there are at least 3 different applications for three additional red lights proposed for stone oak parkway. Looks to me like every neighborhood which doesn't have one wants one. Maybe traffic circles are a better option?

Just saw on FB they are doing a study with the police to determine if stop lights instead of signs would help traffic flow. There is a survey on the Stone Oak poa website. There was no traffic stopped on SO Pkwy a little after 8 on my way back from Bush MS until I was almost to Knights Cross. Before 8 traffic was at least moving and stopped up the hill from Knights Cross right around Mt Arrowhead-heading south. To really help traffic they will still have to adjust the light at Huebner though. It seemed slightly better with traffic stopping past the apartments closer to the shopping center today so maybe they already have.

Tomorrow I'll be picking up at Bush during rush hour so I'm curious to see how the lack of stopping at Arrow Hill will affect that drive.

Although they were out there again this morning, no police today at 4:30, stop signs in effect. And traffic was already backing up northbound.

I truly think these signs need to go!

For the morons doing the study - Why don't you drive on it during rush hours and you will have your clear answer.
