Yeah, I don't have young kids, but was thinking the same exact thing.... It takes nerves of steel to raise kids anymore..... God, when we were kids, the stuff we did terrifies us to think of now, but this dry drowning is not a new phenomenon. We certainly never heard of anything like this before....
I admire people (HONESTLY!!!) who are willing to raise children in this day and age... you have to be a saint, made of steel both emotionally and mentally, discover stores of money that even YOU are not sure of how you found it, be telepathic so you can know with CERTAINTY when to say yes and when to say no (although I think Mothers have always had that anyway)... and you have to have one heck of a lot of faith in whatever kind of God you believe in..... a truly daunting task for boths Moms and Dads....

OK folks, you know I'm not all up in people's grilles in this thread but let's chill out with the politics from here on out, I realize everyone has some pretty strong feelings about what is going on but this ain't the place for it. There is a lot more freedom in this thread than elsewhere and I would like to see it stay that way. I trust everyone has aired it out so that everyone else knows where they stand so let's get back to just yuckin' in up in the OT thread and keep it all 'light and airy'

Thanks everyone

I honestly never knew that could happen. Which is good, because I think I would have lost a lot more sleep in the last 20 years had I known. When I think back on how many hours upon hours I spent in the pool as a kid, and getting dunked, and doing my share of dunking, I can't believe we made it out alive.
