Does anyone know the complete history of Ingram Park Mall? All I remember is that there used to be an Arby's in the food court in the 2000's, there was a cheaper Hot Topic alternative called Metamorphasis, there was a Krystal Burger on the outskirts of IPM, and that Mervyn's, Sam Goody, and KB Toys closed in 2008. Does anyone know where the former locations of Sam Goody, Metamorphasis and KB Toys are? I'm doing a project for one of my classes on the evolution of the shopping mall, so please help me out. I want to know everything before the early-mid 2000's and now.

Default The Complete History of Ingram Mall,

Yes, Ingram mall was a working gravel quarry for 150 years before it was a mall or a Goody Burger. Yes, there was once a great huge hill there , way before it was ever a mall, right next to Leon Creek.
Little by little the hill was whittled down to nothing over time by people. Really. There was still mining operations there into the seventies. Nineteen seventies.

Wonderland Mall might be a more interesting mall to look up than Ingram, if you're able to choose which one you research.

True story. They were still mining when I graduated from Holmes HS in 1975.

Default Ingram Park Mall.

I went to Holmes, and lived in Thunderbird Hills. We may have siblings who knew each other as my little sister was class of 77' and brother was class of 73'. Brother went to Sul Ross middle School.
That was the edge of the city back then there at Ingram Rd on the other side of loop 410, one could see the forest from the hill atop which Holmes High sits. NO mall, car dealers or restaurants. Zip but roadrunners and coyotes.
Now the city extends all the way past Loop 1604. Seems like growth was pretty quick to me and accelerating. Overpopulation is beginning to snowball. At this rate we'll be at 3.5 million metro by 2030.
Maybe more. Population was only less than one million in 1970 as I remember.
Remarkable, when you consider that many small towns around the City have not changed.
Sorry, I never hung around Ingram Mall excepting Christmastime so I can't answer about the inside as
I was never familiar enough with it.

Does anyone have maps/location information of IPM from the 80's, 90's and 2000's?

You should do your report on Northstar mall instead. Dillards used to be Joske's, forever 21 used to be mervyns, in the mid 2000s, foley's merged with macy's. I believe where the jc penney's is now used to be a foley's. They made that foley's to a jc penney's because there was already a macy's at that location. where kona grill is now used to be a sharper image store. They used to have a luby's in the mall but they made that into some clothing store. Anyways, i'm sure you can find some more info on the place online.

I remember when Ingram Park Mall had a really fun bar/restaurant near the entrance I believe facing 410. They had karaoke when it was relatively new or at least new to me since I didn't spend a lot of time in bars. I can't remember what it was called but it seemed to be pretty popular and drew good crowds. It must have closed in the early 90's.
