Spot on. They already have some Judson alternative school along with some classrooms from UIW in the mall.

Does the mall have a movie theater or non food court restaurant that serves full menu/alcohol. Is there anything to do in the mall other than shop?
I remember many years ago they did have a movie theater inside the mall that eventually closed. They were going to open an indoor skate park in its place along with a fast forward skate shop but that was scraped and they eventually opened up an inflatable wonderland which is still there today. They did recently open up a "mom and pop" mini arcade, so there's SOME entertainment in the mall lol

I take my son to the Inflatable Wonderland in the mall and we walk around, do the glass elevator and visit the very strange Fiesta Kingdom "store" which is filled with a bunch of Italian kiddie ride-on machines. The mall is never crowded when we go (weekend early afternoons) but it seems to get enough business.

I can remember when Rolling Oaks Mall opened back in the 1980s. Went there with my dad and my sister. Place was almost empty then. Haven't been there in several years. I used to go to Security Service to deposit my check from my second job for savings.I could go there Saturday or Sunday as the mall is open and so were they. Then one day I was up there, and found out they were moving. I asked a teller, and she said they had customers who wanted a drive thru, so they were building a new place. Located by the mall, but with a drive thru, bummer.
I don't go there at all. Don't go to North Star either. They got rid of Walgreens, don't think they have any bookstore anymore, and I think they even closed the Luby's. Don't go to the Alamo Quarry Marketplace either. No Borders, nothing but over priced stores like at North Star.

It was pretty busy when it first opened. People thought the design was ugly (looked like a bra) but were happy to have a mall to go to other than Windsor Park mall, which was kind of rough back then, before the sheriff's substation was added.

I think Borders has been shut down everywhere for quite a few years now.

I remember one summer in 1995, when I was 15, unlicensed and gas was like $.85, while my parents were at work during the weekdays and I was home alone with the extra car that was lacking AC that they never used but I knew where they hid the keys, my friend and I made it a point to go to every mall in SA we could think of that summer as something to do. South Park, Mcreeles, Westlakes, Ingram, Central Park, Windsor, North Star, Crossroads...we even parked at Southpark and road the bus to Rivercenter Mall one day because I was too afraid to drive downtown . Hanging out at the mall and "holerin" at girls was cool back then, it was a hell of a way to spend a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon that hot summer. The one mall I don't believe we made it to that summer the was open then was Rolling Oaks because it just seemed way to far out there from where we lived in on the south side . I have never been there in my lifetime to date, maybe I willl see it before its demise.

Well it might come back eventually. I think if Simon corporation who owns it and several other malls asked people maybe in an ad in the newspaper and online, what they would like to see there, things might pick up. With the future of the Sears and JC Penney stores there iffy, not certain what's going to happen. The mall could be revived, with all the people moving to this side of town. Lots of people go to the Forum, even during the week.I know, I work part time at TJMAXX, and the place is always busy, especially weekends.
Used to go to the movies there all the time, before they built Regal Cinema18 Live Oak. The movie theatre in the mall was also a draw.

I left the mall just now. Burger IM, which just opened a few months ago, closed shop. Only eating options available are: Chick fil A, famous wok (i think that's the name, regardless it's Chinese food), Charley's, java jo's, and an orange leaf.

To be fair, that was a weird place for Burger IM. They could probably make it at North Star, or La Cantera or the Rim, or in a stand-alone shop, but to go into a dying mall was not the brightest move.
