Howdy. My wife and I will be at a resort for a couple days soon near the intersection of 1604 and IS 10. I am interested in Italian Food (highly rated) in that area. It's near the Pappadeaux"s at that intersection, which we've eaten at a couple times, time for something different. Mainly looking for Italian but would consider other cuisines ... IF exceptional. Thanks folks, I hope everyone is enjoying the "cooler" weather!

Maggianos, Lucianos, North Italia, and Piattis are all good for Italian and within a mile or so (maybe more like half of a mile).

If you’re looking for something five star or beyond “chain” I doubt you’ll find it there. You’ll need to drive into town and hit the pearl.

Thanks for the thoughts/information folks ... I appreciate it. My knowledge of "the Perl" ended when I was drafted in the late 60's ... as a poor boy I drank a lot of Perl ... because it was less expensive than Lone Star. Any more I have to say ... at least that's the way I remember it. Thanks again guys.

Im confused by this answer. When people cite “the pearl” they are citing the former pearl brewery site that was redeveloped about 15 years ago into an arts/entertainment area just north of the river walk area. The appeal food wise is that the culinary institute is there, along with several higher end restaurants.

It's a little further than the area you requested, but you also requested something "unique" - I can't recommend "John the Greek" @ 16602 San Pedro highly enough! We're a "steak and BBQ" type couple, but we REALLY enjoy that place!

Thanks! Always looking for something new. I've bookmarked their web site for future use. As an aside, I'm also a "steak and BBQ" type, however, the wife is a "raw oyster and escargot" type? But then what do you expect when an Aggie and a longhorn get hooked up ...

Thanks again to all who responded.

North Italia, just across I-10 from your location, is incredible. Everything is fresh made, in house. The Bolognese with pappardelle is my go to.
