I just decorated a friends new upscale condo with contemporary furniture and now my home looks like a dungeon in comparison. I am wanting to update some rugs, windows treatments, paint and get rid of some antique pieces and oriental rugs. Can anybody give me some ideas on how to sell these pieces in the easiest and most expedient manner? Where to buy inexpensive large size rugs and where I would look for variety of inexpensive window treatments? Thanks!

You could sell the furniture on Craigslist. You can check out Garden Ridge Pottery for curtains and rugs but I would check out the one in Shertz. It's very clean and big. If you want to make a road trip you can go up to Austin to visit Ikea. They are very contemporary.

Check out Overstock.com, especially for the large rugs at GREAT prices, no Tax and NO or very little shipping!!! They have a GREAT selection!!

Another Craigslister here - probably your best bet. Wimberley, TX has a market on the weekends, where lots of people sell antiques...
