Chimp

I am originally from Jacksonville and have spent some time in the "Redneck Riviera" (Hurlburt, Eglin, etc).

The humidity is a lot lower here, but it does get hotter. As AnthonySA said, we don't get any seabreezes this far inland, but the lower moisture content makes it more bearable in my opinion. I prefer the hotter, dryer weather of SA.

val47, I've lived in the UK and have been back on several occasions; plus I know several Brits here. I can tell you it will be very hot and very dry to you, but if you've ever "holiday'd" in places such as Spain you might have a good idea of what to expect. The nice thing is SA is a very informal town, so wear short and light clothing (both in color and weight), keep hydrated (and minimize the alcohol intake during the day) and stick to places that offer some shade (Riverwalk, some of the Missions, SeaWorld) and you'll survive. Oh, and use plenty of sunscreen, along the lines of SPF 50 and higher; as well as wear hats. Good sunglasses are necessary, as we have this big bright thing in the sky that doesn't show itself in the UK too often!

Cheers! M2

As long as we don't have another 41 days of continuous 100+ heat this summer I think I may stay for a while. I've lived in Miami and it was waaay more hellish than the summers here though spend a couple in either place and it becomes hard to compare.

i always found sa to be quite humid even on its low humidity days, but that is only due to being used to triple digits with single digit humidity. i must say though, nothing feels nicer then stepping into a market after a drive in the hot car also, summer thunder storms! woo!
