Yep, can't take a picture like that without keeping the camera steady. I have taken some good night pictures by placing the camera on ledges and railings, but last night I was lugging a tripod around.

the tripod does a good job of isolating the camera from the rumbles you would get from sitting the camera on a ledge. Those tiny little movements caused by cars, people walking, and especially a/c units can ruin a long exposure. That's why I asked if you were on something at ground level or up on a roof or in a parking garage.

The first picture was taken from the 8th floor of the Riverbend Parking Garage (The one were the entrance is next to Shilos). I couldn't perceive any vibration up there though that garage was pretty solid

I agree that there can be some unwanted vibration, but the Pentax cameras have in-body shake reduction which also helps. (Though I think I had turned it off for that picture)

Here is a picture I took with the camera perched on a steel box integrated into a railing on a Pier in Circular Quay Sydney it is a 20 second exposure. I didn't think the new wife would be overly happy with me lugging a tripod around on our honeymoon.

San Fernando Cathedral, across the recently finished Main Plaza. The fountains in the foreground are new with the renovation.

The reflection at the bottom of the photo is what takes this picture from 'great' to 'incredible'. Such nice work!

Seriously! You need to copyright these, Smitty!

I, for one, would buy them. They're absolutely gorgeous.
