You will owe money for the difference between ag/non-ag (or the new buyer will - I'm not sure who owes) for those 5 years. I pity the person who sells/buys an ag-exempt property that isn't aware of this little detail.
yes it is a very complex tax...

The other beauty of this Ag exemption is that it creates work for an army of dung-hunters in Austin

Yes, you are correct SA2EP? It is a man whom does a lot of contracting for the state of Texas. He is something along the lines of the Director of urban development for the state. I have many friends who's family business do work out there and they said that it it a extremely large place with a lot of security cameras. I was told by a few people that when they go out there to do work that they are not allowed to even have their cell phones on and no cameras allowed. It is a beautiful place though and obviously owned by a very successful man.

Sign visible from Bitters Rd. says it's for sale now. I'd post a link, but real estate links are not allowed.

I noticed the sign as well. Possibly donkey farming isn't as lucrative as they'd hoped? Anyone been on a tour yet?

It's a pretty amazing property. There will be some major hoops to jump through to get in to see that home, including releasing some pretty detailed financials. Personally, I'm shocked they put that sign up. I'd have thought they'd be much more discrete about it than that, but it's not my listing, so we'll see if it works.
