I'll be moving to SA in July for one year and wanted to rent an apartment in a gated community with communal pool and gym, etc. for myself, wife and two year old. Any advice or recommendations for a nice, quiet, safe, family friendly complex, preferably with not alot of college students would be nice. Thanks!

We live in Las Cimas, which is only barely gated (the gate is stuck open half the time). There are tons of apartments in the area, but to be honest, we've lived here five years and I haven't looked at anything else since, so I'm not of much help.

The Vintage looks fancy-pants from the outside. I'd guess it would suit your needs, plus it is like IN the Med Center.

Here's a link that might at least get you started: Ventana Apartments for Rent San Antonio Texas (http://www.apartmenthomeliving.com/apartment_finder/directory.aspx?property_id=6426 - broken link)

Good luck!

There are several complexes on Hamilton Wolfe that I know people who have lived there have liked. They all have the standard amenities - gate, pool, gym, etc. and there's pretty much the entire price spectrum represented.

I live at the Vintage Apartments, they are nice but you never see the office staff they are stand offish and rude. The security at the gate is a joke, the guys are either asleep or on the net. Plus they leave early half the time.

There's a townhouse open at Babcock/Medical in a gated neighborhood full of nurses, doctors, lawyers, etc.

Very quiet, but no amenities. Probably ~$1,000/month.

I'm pretty sure the OP has found a great place by now. We weren't much of a help a year and a half ago.
