Would you pay 7 cents for a plastic grocery bag? (San Antonio: homes, taxi)

I don't remember seeing the paper bags all along the roads, fences, lakes and streams like you see the plastic bags. I guess thats my main complaint with the plastic. When did we start thinking it was OK to just throw out your trash and let it blow away. If we just became responsible then the plastic wouldn't be as big an issue.

At Walmart the reusable bags are .50. I bought a bunch of them so I always have them either in the car or in the house that way I dont forget. I dont like the overpriced ones at HEB, they tear too easily, im referring to the ones with the designs on them (bluebonnets; longhorns)

Are those the black ones? Are they larger..smaller ..or about the same size as the HEB ones. I would like to find something smaller.

They are blue now, I think they area slightly smaller than the black ones they had. The HEB ones (green ones) are also slightly smaller IMO.

EDIT: If you are a moderate shopper who usually just needs basics every week, two of the Walmart bags is sufficient. I brought 6 with me for major grocery shopping and ended up using 4.

I have a bag question . You say major shopping and you used 4 re-useable bags, my major shopping usually includes about 15-20 plastic bags. How many re-useable bags do you think that would be?

No, we don't eat that much, I just HATE grocery shopping so when I go I have to make it count .

Nope, I wouldn't pay 7 cents for a plastic bag. However, I do use these plastic bags as liners for small garbage cans in the bathroom, etc. I also sometimes use them in the kitchen hung from one of the drawers. The paper bags will leak through with waste that has liquid. If I didn't have these plastic bags, I might go back to buying plastic bags to line some type of garbage can.

mine say Fred Meyer and QFC on them and they work fine.

You sound like me. I use about that many plastic bags for "major shopping." I am the same way, we grocery shop twice a month. I brought 6 bags just in case though because I know not all baggers are created equal....
