And all the neighborhood kids think it's fun to write on it. I mean it looks really tacky. We spray paint it grey but then the kids go right back to writing on it. They know it bugs us and that's why they do it. I've even spoken to one of the parents about it and still those kids write on it. So what are my options now? Do I go to the HOA? 311? What?

have them arrested. I'd advocate other things, but talk of violence is suddenly no longer acceptable around these parts.

I have one, too.....and a TW box (on my side yard) and they tag it every 3 months or so (I guess that's like their menstrual cycle or something because they're fairly regular).....and then the neighborhood Grafitti Guru (read:Silvercreek78250) comes along and cleans it up. They supposedly don't want him/them doing it since there are some magical numbers on the box, but he cleans it up anyway. And I thank him.

(He did say I could do it myself (hint hint) but I haven't seen it lately.--Maybe their cycle has stopped? LOL)

This is everyday, though. And as soon as the paint dries they are back writing on it more cuss words since I painted over it. And as tempted as I am to drop kick all of these kids I need to remember that these are elementary and middle school kids and that I'm the adult.

Can you talk to the principal at their school? They will tell you they can't do anything since it's off campus, but they could have the NISD cops drive by there and see if that deters them any. It's aggravating as hell, I know. Take pics of the tagging and show the school cops. They usually have files they've built on these kids, starting about middle school.

Get a video camera and tape the little darlings as they tag your light pole. Call the police and present the video as evidence. Be sure the time and date are turned on. It's hard to say you didn't do it when you're on tape. I'm sure mom and dad will get aggravated when they have to go down to juvenile to pickup little Johnnie. It's good for little Johnnie too when they ask him at school where he's been "I...uh..er...I was picked up by the police for tagging."

Also, if the kids are involved in any extra curricular(sp?) activity, the school could take that away from them since kids involved in sports, etc are held responsible for on, and off campus, actions...

Usually the kids that are involved in extracurricular activities are not the same kids doing the tagging, vandalizing, etc. Not ALWAYS, but usually. They know how to follow the rules generally, and they're often busy after school with, well, extracurriculars.

Do you think I can get CPS to install the camera? I need it to be high enough to where the kids can't get to it or climb to get to it.

elementary school kids? like 1-5 grade? I would be all over those parents because they are complete failures already.
