My husband is currently looking for work as an armed security guard.
Does anyone know of any good companies to work for that pay decently?
He is Level III Certified.
Thanks!

Might want to look at USAJOBS - The Federal Government's Official Jobs Site as there are civilian DoD guards at most of the military bases in SA now...

I'd shy away from commissioned security jobs now. I saw them advertising for 8 bucks an hour.

Might as well go be a cashier at HEB..you'll get paid more and less dangerous.

is Citywide only looking for armed security? My son isn't 21 yet, so he's doing the unarmed thing until next month.

All you have to be a commissioned officer in TX is to be 18 years or older you have to be 21 to buy a hand gun, all he needs to do is go to the gun store and fill out a back ground check and have someone 21 years or older buy the gun. U.S Security will not work someone commissioned under the age of 25

The best paying security company in san antonio is ALLIED BARTON, i think who ever is doing the heb contract is paying 13.00 an hour on a commissioned card. It cost a lot of money to be a level three officer the course for the commission is about 150.00 to 175.00 depends on which company you go with. Dont forget the 85.00 fee for your card not to mention buying a handgun which ranges from 500.00 to 600.00 dollars did i forget the gun belt a level three holster and hollow points which range from 45.00 to 52.00 dollars. Buy time it is said and done you will spend 800.00 to 1000.00 dollars to be commissioned.

Universal Protection Service has the HEB account. AlliedBarton has some relatively high paying positions (that's used very loosely), but they are limited. A person will most likely get a commissioned site that pays $10 or $11 an hour. I don't know if U.S. Security Associates still has this account, but the SAWS account pays $11 an hour. They provide you with all of the duty gear. Blue Armor Security is/was a subcontractor for this account providing patrol services. I think G4S provides duty gear, at least they used to.
