Hi All,

I am a 24 year old single moving to San Antonio from Houston in January. My work is going to be near Lackland AFB & Training Annex.

What I am really looking for is to identify a good area which is close to my work and has a concentration of bars/clubs & shopping for people below 35.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Happy Holidays to all!!

Please let me know of any questions that might help with your advise.....again Thanks!!

Best,
Suri

City-Base Landing is probably the best shopping that's close to Lackland. Not sure whether there are night spots near there, though.

Southtown, King William, Tobin Hills, Mahncke Park, Government Hill are areas that would be good for the living part of what your looking for. Although none of them are close to lackland, the commute is not bad, most of the traffic is going the other way

Do you have any idea how the schools are in those areas?

Your best bet would be somewhere along 1604 or 151. Lot's of major new shopping areas. Nightlife and shopping are prime in these areas:

La Cantera (I-10/1604 area) - This area includes La Cantera, The RIM, UTSA, eilan, etc. Several nightclubs are located on I-10 near the medical center.

Stone Oak (281/1604 area) - This area includes numerous new shopping centers such as Village at Stone Oak. Also has a large selection of nightclubs/lounges and restaurants.

Alamo Ranch (151/1604 area) - Brand new retail, houses, and restaurants. Not much nightlife for the area yet. Closest of the 3 to Lackland.
