I have visited several of Tristone communities and was really impressed. They are a local builder that mainly builds on the NWside. They have two models that we loved one in Estonia 151/Military and the other in Alamo Ranch.

I was invited by one of the sales people to a "meet the builder" night they hold monthly I believe.... It was a unique experience since it was held at their design center so we got a chance to see all their standard selections and the available upgrades. With most builders you cannot tour their design center until after contract( I know we tried when we built our current home) so it was nice to be able to see what exactly you were paying for....it can get confusing when you are only able to see a decked out model.

we also had the opportunity to meet everyone from the owner of the company to the vendors. It was nice since we had the opportunity to really get a feel for the company.

They have a nice philosophy and once we decide to build again they are on the top of our list.

I wouldnt worry at all about Tristone going into Trophy....but Sivage would def scare me!

I believe a lot of the vacant lots that were owned by Medallion were sold to Gehan Homes. Not sure if this includes Trophy Ridge.

An update...

Medallion Homes files for bankruptcy to protect 'limited resources'

A local home builder is filing for bankruptcy.

The president of Medallion Homes released a statement stating:

"This is a necessary and prudent step for Medallion Homes so the company's limited resources will be utilized in a reasonable and organized process."

The company says its voluntarily filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection so that it can reorganize itself and continue to serve its customers.

Chapter 11 is a reorganization so that they can possibly stay in business and help their current customers. It's not a ploy so they can take their money and run away from their responsibility. Going through bankruptcy isn't a fun or easy process. It's got nothing to do with "the man" getting away with anything.
