I am moving to Temecula in June of 2011. I would like some advice on what area I should move to so that my children will attend the best schools, and yet still have quick access to the highways for an easy commute. Are there areas I should avoid because of higher crime rates?
I currently live in Wisconsin, but grew up in a rough neighborhood on the southside of Chicago, So I cannot imagine an area there being as undesirable as the one I grew up in. But thats exactly what I am trying to avoid. I want my kids to grow up in a good place.
I am a white collar professional who is looking at homes between 275,000 and 350,000. Can I get into a good neighborhood for that price or should I look at higher cost homes.
Any help is appreciated and welcomed.
Steven

There are hundreds in Temecula within your price range. Others will have to speak to the safety and school issues.

Are you going to be working in Temecula, or are you going to join the daily morning exodus?

This will give you a rough idea of school quality: Greatschools.org Search: temecula

Temecula is generally very safe and a bit on the bland side. Ok, more than a bit. I suggest this: as you discover homes of interest, post the nearest major cross streets so our panel of experts can rate the neighborhood.
