Thinking of a move to Temecula, but my wife and son can be sensitive with air quality. We live in Wisconsin and has never been an issue. When I read threads about the area, folks will bring up smog. Just wondering from a local view point. Thanks!!!

I live in Temecula. I'll only say that I've only seen visible smog maybe twice in the 3 years I've lived there. Even then, I can't say for sure it wasn't just haze from the marine layer blowing in. You really need to drive North of Temecula on I-15 for about 30-45 minutes before you get into noticeable smog. Note that I use the terms "visible" and "noticeable". You don't always see bad air.

If you look at a map and compare Temecula's location to Los Angeles, and take into account the prevailing wind patterns, you can see why the smog express stays North of Temecula.

This map gives you the air quality. AIRNow - Temecula Vly, CA Air Quality Temecula is listed as a low moderate. Very few populated areas of CA score a "Good". You might be fine as long as you stay out of the orange areas. Orange is described as being unhealthy for sensitive groups. Temecula is well below that threshold.

I totally agree CarrawayDJ. I live in SD full time, but have another property in Murietta bordering Wildomar (west of 15.)
My wife can be sensitive to alleriges and bad air quality, but we go up there at least every other weekend and its not bad at all. We also spend a good amount of time in Temecula as well when we are up there.

However, drive up another 45 mins or so towards Ontario etc and its just a wall of smog. I am no AQ expert, but seeing the burnt orange sky should be an indicator of the air being not ok
