So I plan on going out to LA next weekend and wanted to get everyones opinion about parking. I live in Moreno Valley so there are only a few bus options near me. In my experience it takes FOREVER to get somewhere super close (riverside) so I was hoping I can drive. I am really uncomfortable leaving my car in the metrolink parking lot...I know they have security but I don't know how attentive they are late at night. What do you guys think?

You'd be fine. You might also want to consider the San Bernardino line from the SB station. It's got more options on weekends. I was hesitant about the San Bernardino station late at night but now that I've done it I realized there was no reason for the hesitancy. It's well-lit and populated at train arrival times. I think I saw security there late night but don't remember exactly. In any case, I felt safe in the San Bernardino metrolink late at night and I feel safe in the Riverside one late at night.

But would you leave your car there for a night or two?

Just for the record it should be mentioned that San Bernardino's parking structure does not allow overnight parking. Agreed about the better timetables on the weekends.

If you choose to leave your auto in Riverside it should be fine, rest assured the area is patrolled into the night from what I've witnessed.

Myself though I'd just take RTA from MoVal over if it was convenient at the time. Sure it 30 minutes or so on route 16 over to Riverside but it eliminates the predicament of parking and what not.

Either way just watch for the weekend schedules, last thing you need is to be stranded in SB or anything.
