It can be done, but it won't be easy. You'll have no life outside of trying to make your basic living expenses every month.

Anybody who I've met living in San Diego on minimum wage were either supported somehow by other means (welfare, trust fund $), or were scraping by and not exactly the world's happiest people. Just my 2 cents.

Interesting to note is that our minimum wage is set to increase to more closely align with a living wage but that means more people will be out of a job as business accommodate higher running expenses. So you will need to have some sort of magic thing about you to set yourself apart from all the other people who desire to live in our beautiful city. It comes at a cost, and the question is, is it worth it to you?

As long as the information in the thread isn't obsolete, it's still useful.
