Hello, I'm gonna be 25 years old this August, I live in Montreal, Canada and I'm currently working and saving up money to visit San Diego from November 30 2012 to April 30 2013.

I think you will need a tourist visa for a 5 month stay...check with your local passport/via office online.

Apparently you don't need a tourist visa, coming from Canada. Look here for visa requirements:

You might have trouble finding an apartment for a short-term lease over the winter. Students will have filled many of them. So you might find yourself in an extended-stay hotel, instead.
For a trip that long, I strongly recommend trip insurance of some kind, in case something goes wrong. And most importantly - health insurance, since the US doesn't have any 'free' health care.
What are you planning to do about driving while you're here? Public transportation in San Diego is somewhat limited, but you may be able to get away with renting a car on selected days when you want to go farther afield. Here's the site for SD public transportation:
