You can't be happy for yourself, you have to convince the others who don't enjoy it that they're wrong. People from out of town deserve both opinions.

Golden Hill is an average neighborhood at best, it is what it is. Its not horrible but its definetly not great.
Check out the Houston forum, bro. (J/K about the bro.) Of your posts that I've seen, you kind of attract it. You know, negative energy. There's a large space between nasty and rah-rah.

The OP is obviously not coming back for answers, so unless you guys just enjoy sniping at each other I suggest we just let this one drop.

Default THank you everyone

I did want answers. I was on a short vacation after I posted. I appreciate all the help and advice. We signed the lease for the apartment. The price is cheap and if we hate it, the lease is only six months and hopefully in six months, we will have a little more discretionary income to play with.

So thank you everyone for the help. The fiancee checked out the area and he was pretty happy with it, so if he is happy, I am happy.

Default lived in golden hill for 8 years.

I know the post I am responding to is a year old but I thought I should respond to it for future readers. During my 8 years of living in golden Hill a teenage girl was murdered in an abandoned house, a man was stabbed to death by a homeless person, thugs do exist there, I saw a guy kick his small dog repeatedly tell I yelled at him, a woman threw a lit CIG at a dog walking by on a leash, lots of mentally ill homeless people, homeless guy beating up his girlfriend at park and I think that's it. I always felt on edge there.
