I see a lot of rents are high downtown, I wonder why is that. I thought its not the most desirable area.

There arent a lot of professionally managed complexes downtown. Its mostly all condo ownership.

Many of the places you might see on on rental websites are for the big buildings like Strata or Vantage Pointe. To my knowledge they were intended to be condos as well, but the downturn in the market forced them to go rental.

Have you looked at rentals from condo owners to see what they are charging? Its a competitive market downtown to own and rent unless its in a desirable building.
