Being a native San Diegan, married to a native San Diegan this is fun for us. I can't recall it being this cold (especially at night), in San Diego for a few decades.

I do remember it snowing once in San Diego but that was 1967 when I was 7. I know it won't snow in the city but the city will be surrounded by the snowy mountains.

Should be a beautiful "White New Year" in San Diego.

We have not turned on our heat yet. After the long hot summer of endless 100+ degree days and Thanksgiving that was 95 degrees where we live, we are enjoying this. Ran up the electric bill with five months of non-stop A/C trying to not use the heat this winter.

Here is the link to our snow day in 1967.

That was the hottest summer/fall I remember ever. Bring on the rain! After three dry years we need lots of rain to make a dent in the drought. I don't know how long you have been in CA but last summer was not the norm, thankfully!

It was way too hot last summer for my taste, especially with the humidity. I thought I left that behind when I left the East Coast. I've had my space heater on, and it's nice and warm in my apartment.

There's a 60% chance of snow in East County. They can keep it, too.

Yes, I should have defined cold. It has been down to 40 degrees in Fallbrook (North San Diego County) the past few nights and in most of the county. I would define cold as a high of 55 and a low of 40 or below.

I do love it! So rare! Last winter, was never cold, never needed a coat or my UGGS. This will only last a couple of days before a warm up, so I say enjoy it!

I have sister that moved to Iowa, from San Diego! It will be 20 below zero this week with the wind chill factor. If she heard I considered 40 degrees "cold" I think she would slug me.

I'm enjoying the chill in the air, also. Actually dropped to the upper 30's at my house a couple nights ago. Makes for nice fires in the the fireplace, though. Snow levels are suppose to drop to about 2,000 feet tonight....nice.

I tolerated 30 Chicago winters. If it never drops below 60 degrees, I'd be quite happy.
