This used to be a dangerous illnesses till it was effectively eradicated. Its disgraceful that a wealthy country like the US will reject vaccines while people in under developing countries trek miles for a vaccine.
I'm sorry if I didn't express myself clearly, but my post was misunderstood. I never said children should not be vaccinated. There are babies who are too young to receive the vaccine and older children with measles might infect them. I was only agreeing that my entire family had measles and recovered very quickly. I also believe that the media often exaggerates and promotes fear.

I was born at the peak of the polio epidemic and, although I'm too young to remember the early 50s, I do remember my neighbors who were paralyzed and had to use respirators to breathe. Not vaccinating children against a virus when it is preventable is irresponsible, especially when it has been scientifically proven to be safe.
