First world problem here - I need to actually go IN to the DMV to renew my license this time. I haven't been into a DMV office in over a decade (thank God!). Which office is the quickest? I signed up online for the appointment, does that help?

The last I remember of the DMV is that it was a long wait, in a stuffy environment, and it was really miserable!

Is this a trick question? ALL of the DMV’s are stuffy, long lines, and miserable places. Best you can do is go at an off-time or do your business online.

It doesn't matter as long as you make an appointment. Then you're in and out within 10 minutes.

The whole point of making an appointment is that you eliminate the wait. Waiting, taking a number, etc. is for people who don't have appointments, i.e.--nearly everyone there. In theory, the agents who handle the by-appointment people stay reasonably on time. So "which DMV is fastest" is irrelevant to you.

Not at DMV. When you go in, they give you a number, and you watch the board for your number, and they also call it out.

When I bought my current van, I printed out all the forms, filled them out, and took them into the appointment with me. I was in and out of there less than 15 minutes.

Make an appointment like already mentioned. Both my wife and I had appointments on different days and we waited around 15 minutes each. This includes the wait in the appointment line, filling out the form, giving the form back to the appointment only staff and receiving your #, and then getting number called. Both times the regular waiting line was wrapped outside the building past the sign that said 2hr wait from this point in line. This was in El Cajon.
