I think you can figure out your preference based largely on demographics LOL.

PB- 18-30 year old sorority girl types of women
La Jolla/Del Mar/Coronado- Moms
OB- see PB but throw in homeless women or women with multiple tattoos and piercings
Imperial Beach- Hispanic women
Mission Beach- basically the same as OB but also a lot of tourists so it has variety

I lived in Pacific Beach (probably considered the Crown Point area though) and I just remember seeing a lot of young men and women there and it being really loud and not particularly relaxing (but I know that's not necessarily what people want!).

I would always drive a bit further North to around near Swami's, park in a nice neighborhood, and take these long stairs up and down to go to a beach that had very few people there. Only problem was often times it would be high tide so there would be no beach and it wasn't the kind of beach that people called in for (I guess I could have just gone with the surf reports though).

I just got back from Swamis...beach was packed and yes there were butt cheeks hanging out....it stays crowded here all summer long and starts to die off after labor day
