So, anyone think they are going to get lots of trick or treaters this year?
I am thinking we will get very few because we live in a complex.
But for those kids who are brave enough to come all the way to the door,

What about you guys? Any decorations or plans?

We stayed home the last few years, but our house is on a hilly, windy, secluded street and we only got a dozen or so of the neighborhood kids. This year we are going to my brother's place in Normal Heights, they get tons of kids.

I haven't seen any out in this area! We live in Hillcrest. But if you tell me where you live, I'll gladly take those Twix, Reese's, and Milky Ways off your hands.

We had hundreds of kids this year and we ran out of candy by 8. I had to make the kids decide what they wanted so we could reuse the rest. WOW

We got 3 ToTers, so we gave them each 10 candy bars.
I was kind of sad.

We get a small group at our house, cute polite kids in darling costumes. The vast majority are accompanied by parents. It's just enough to enjoy it without it being taxing. I don't buy chocolate because I would eat it myself. Starbursts and Skittles were the treats at our house this year.

We got one group at 8:30PM last night. But when we woke up this morning, someone had stolen all our pumpkins off our patio. My kids were really bummed out.

Is it just my neighborhood, or does it seem like people aren't really as festive anymore? I've lived in the same neighborhood for almost 15 years and when I trick-or-treated here as a kid everybody was out by around late 6 and didn't stop until about 10PM or so. Nowadays we only get a handful of kids trick-or-treating. Perhaps most of the kids in my neighborhood grew up/moved away, or times are a'changin'.

I think a lot of people perceive Halloween as an unsafe holiday and tend to gravitate towards parties or church gatherings and other such events instead of neighborhood trick-or-treating. I can tell you there were hundreds of people out in Normal Heights last night, but a lot of them were people who probably shouldn't be trick or treating anymore
