It's so funny to read this. We moved out of NJ, which by the way was just hit with a huge winter storm, so that we can enjoy the warm winters. Funny to see what people will do just to see the snow many of us escaped from.

Well, I actually moved here just about 3 months ago, in part to get away from another snowy Michigan winter. But I couldn't help but think it would be fun to see snow in Southern California, especially so close to Christmas. The great part is being able to see it because you want to and then being able to go back home after you've had your fun!

Julian
Lake Cuyamaca area
Mount Laguna area, and
Palomar Mountain.

Traffic will be bad because everyone wants to see snow. Get chains for your car tires.

You can also get fake snow at Wild Animal park during Festival of Lights. Of course, if you just want to think you are in winter you can go outdoor ice skating at Horton Square or Del Coronado. See here:

Awwwwwww.....don't make fun of us!

We're just taking advantage of what's around us. Deciding on whether to walk along the beach or make snow angels isn't a bad predicament to be in, don't you think?

Now? no. it was near 80 degrees today. Alpine usually gets a bit of snow every 2 or 3 years and it's never that much. My backyard did get covered a couple times but it's pretty rare.

If it's for Mount Laguna area, I know that the ranger station just north of the store at Mt. Laguna sells them. I think the store may sell them as well.

Otherwise in the greater San Diego area, it all looks a bit silly. Here's the best link I could find:

Cleveland National Forest - Descanso Ranger District - Recreation Fee Areas - Adventure Pass - Passes & Permits - Pacific Southwest Region
