How long from San Diego Airport to San Diego State University?
Was wonder how long it will take to get from the airport to SDSU and how much would you guess a cab would cost?
Thanks

I have no idea how much a cab would cost, but an off the top of the head guess would be $15-$20, (about $4 for a base charge plus about $1-$1.50/mile). A car trip would take about 10-15 minutes, and would be about 8 to 10 miles.
If you really wanted to economize, you could take a city bus (probably the 992) from the airport to the main downtown bus transfer point, and then switch to the 15 bus which terminates at SDSU. Another alternative would be to take the city bus to the Downtown trolley station directly across the street on the eastern side from the railroad tracks and the Santa Fe Train Depot. From that point you could take the trolley through Old Town, Mission Valley, all the way to SDSU. My guess is that would cost $5-$6. I believe they have ended free bus-trolley transfers.

Cab will cost you at least 20 bucks, and will take about 20 minutes.

The cab will cost more like 35 dollars you can take a Cloud 9 supper shuttle for less. SDSU is about 10 miles from the airport.
# $2.20~$2.40 first 1/10 mile
# $2.30~$2.60 each additional mile
# $19.00~$20.00 per hour waiting time

I would have estimated 20-30 minutes, but definitely a cab is going to be a lot. If you want a much cheaper way, then maybe the trolley to Santa Fe station, which has a bus that goes between airport and Santa Fe station continuously. Unfortunately, it seems you have to transfer trolleys, otherwise it would be simpler.

SDSU is a major trolley stop as already noted so if you can, definitely try to get to Old Town or Downtown(pretty easy) and jump on the trolley.
