I just accepted a new job and will be moving to San Diego in a couple weeks. My job is located in El Cajon so La Mesa looks like a good first step with an easy commute until I can get more familiar with the city. Can anyone recommend a good apartment complex in La Mesa? I am looking for a 1 BR around $1200 a month. I am in my 30's so trying to avoid a place where college students are the majority.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

just wondering if you found a place or recommend any apartments in La Mesa. I'm considering moving in the area in June. Thanks.

There's a complex that I think is called Shasta Lane. Someone I know used to live there and the rent was very reasonable. If you like to jog, bike, birdwatch, or enjoy nature, Lake Murray is a few blocks from there. I'm not saying that its totally problem free, but the person I knew that lived there really liked it. She only moved because she inherited a house.

Last I was there... Lake Murray was a really nice path to walk or run on. Really nice.

I lived at San Carlos townhomes for 6 months after a moved to San Diego and really liked the place. They are at the corner of Golfcrest dr and Jackson drive a block from Cowles mountain. If you like to hike or be outdoors it is a great location with Mission trails park so close. The complex is small and relatively quiet.
