Great optical Illusion , plane was part of an air show. From a differant angle you can see that it passed thru the middle of the towers at a safe hight.

You're 100% correct, that was a poor call, that plane is too big to be in a show like that. Being a native New Yorker, who happened to live in SF during 9/11, big planes flying low like that over major cities freaks me out, and brings back terrible memories of the worst day in US History. Had an incident in Jersey City 1 1/2 years ago where they were doing publicity pics in NY (buzzing around the Statue of Liberty too), planes were flying low near office buildings in Jersey City, and the politicians didn't let anyone in NJ know.
ll I can say is this isn't Texas but we do grow them air planes "BIG" over here!

Well -- to be fair, I heard that the videos and the sightings were scary -- but the plane wasn't as close as it seemed. And it was getting instruction from the tower to do this.

But I live in the flight path of the Oakland Coliseum flyovers they do for opening games and frankly -- if I'm not aware they are going to do this, it scares the bejeezus out of me and the cats -- It's way way loud and way low and rattles the house to the foundation.... and this was all before 9/11....

if you're not expecting to hear what sounds like a 747 near to crashing into your neighborhood it's scary.

So hubby pays attention to that and let's me know before hand.

If you're referring to the 707, it landed and had taken off from Boeing Field just south of Downtown Seattle.

If you're asking about the 747, I have no idea.

I have gone to see the air show for the last few years and I like having the big jets participate, and my 3-1/2 year old niece though it was one of the coolest things she has ever seen, of course, the "fast" jets impressed her more. They have flown the 747 for at least the last 2 years, maybe more.

Yes, the OP are being overly sensitive.

I dunno, I don't recall seeing this type of manuever in 2008 when I went to fleet week but maybe it went on then too?

How many people could be taken out on the GG Bridge? I would think the Bay Bridge is a more likely target for terrorist because it has way more traffic. I understand though the significance the GG would make.
