You may think that it's funny, but my 4 year old already has a strong association between McDonalds and toys. Hence he likes McD a lot more than, say, Carls Junior.

I think they've overstepped their boundaries here. McDonald's is a business, doing what it can to earn money. Whether or not a child eats there is up to the parents, not the city. I do like SF but things like this make it hard to defend.

Look at it this way - what if McDonald's decided to add small quantities of alcohol to its soft drinks, put those drinks into meals, and bundle them with toys? Alcohol is legal in CA, and, by your logic, whether or not kids eat those meals, is up to the parents, not the government.

Please tell me that you're not seriously comparing kids toys to a controlled substance? A toy requiring no legal age to posses (recommended ages aren't legal, just suggestions), while Alcohol requires a person be an age three years passed legal adult-hood. You're not really using that as your argument are you?
