im in my late 20s and may be coming to SF in June. I don't know much about the area, only that my companion is extremely eager to visit. What are some areas of interest to see that people in their mid to late 20s may enjoy over a 4 day span? The pictures posted on this form are absolutely beautiful, but i just cant seem to get excited about this trip. Any info you can give me would help. Thanks

Just come to SF and either you'll like it or you won't. For stuff to do, it depends on which of these categories you prefer to spend more time on when you're in a city as a tourist:

- viewing natural landmarks (parks, hills, forests etc)
- viewing man-made landmarks (buildings, bridges etc)
- going to really touristy areas (Fisherman's Wharf, etc)
- just wandering around urban neighborhoods getting a feel for the place at your own speed
- museums
- shopping
- fine dining
- eating cheap local street food
- going on guided tours

You're not going to be able to do all of these things in SF in the space of four days so I'd decide what categories you care most about and prioritize doing those things.

What do you enjoy doing or what interests you? Having low expectations is a good thing though. I'm sure you will love it, if you enjoy cities like Boston, Seattle, NYC, Chicago.

Yeah, what do you like?

I pretty much hated the idea of visiting SF. Only did it as a favor to a friend.

... and we see how THAT went.

Would ugly pictures help? A camera and a stroll through some of the more dubious parts of town can get that accomplished, easy.

You forgot the elephant in the room of why tens of thousands of people visit SF every year: weed. Many SF natives will agree that Northern Cali's best homegrown product is one of the best things about living in The City. Yes, weed is pretty much legal for casual smokers in San Francisco. Unlike NYC and many other big cities, SF is extremely pro-weed and does not enforce the draconian legal policies of the pointless national war on weed. This is one of the things that makes the most liberal county in America so much better than all the other mini-police states across the country. You are more likely to be arrested for jay walking than smoking a joint in public in SF. Unless you are selling massive quantities of weed in SF, you will not get in trouble for weed. Some of the best weed in the world is definitely easily accessible in SF. You will smell potent smoke everywhere in SF; its unavoidable. Whether its in Golden Gate Park or a dispensary. You will be asked if you are looking to buy weed from many different types of people in SF from homeless people in Golden Gate Park to block huggers in Fillmore. Medical cards are easy to obtain if you know someone. Some dispensaries don't even strictly enforce the medical card policy and will gladly do business with you. This is especially common during special events and celebrations at weed bars. Doing a little research on the internet would go a long way. Oaksterdam in downtown Oakland is also know for its dispensaries and cafes; but I don't know too much about Oaksterdam personally. But if you don't smoke, ignore this post .

So.... you're not excited about coming here, you have no sense of humor and are judgmental? Seriously, you're going to hate it here, don't come.
