It seems like they should be in San Francisco. More well known city, near many tourist destinations, probably would have a nice waterfront stadium. I do not understand.

You're right, they should be playing in the basketball arena that San Francisco doesn't have.

No worries, a cursory search shows the property needed is plentiful and cheap to acquire. Not to mention the impact survey will show there is great car and public transportation access.

unfortunately, i think the Warriors will eventually be in SF - The rumor is management is already eyeing Pier 29.

I think oakland is going to lose both the A's and the Warriors within 10 years.

No offense, but your threads get worse by the day. Where would they play, the Cow Palace? And why would they need a waterfront "stadium" for a basketball arena?

A waterfront stadium would be a great addition to our waterfront. It would spur even more growth. Think before you judge. And rumor has it that is exactly what is going to happen.

The question is, does anyone want the Warriors? They have had about as much success as a franchise as Roseanne Barr has had being thin.

Most realistic scenario. If a team had to come to the bay, why would they choose Oakland to SF?

Well from a geographic standpoint the warriors playing in Oakland makes the most sense. its the middle of the bay area allowing them to have access to the bay areas entire fan base easily. While i do not approve of this the best thing for the team would be a new arena in Oakland, which i like, and a new name, which i dont like, the San Francisco warriors. That way they get the excellent placement of the arena in Oakland and the city name recognition of SF. Mind you i believe that the team will most likely wind up in San Jose simply because the cost of building in SF will sink their plans and they dont want to be in Oakland San Jose im sure will throw all their support at grabbing up the team.
