I can't imagine NOT having car. But my only alternative here is bus... and they don't go where I need to go, at least in any form of a timely manner. When I lived on 38th Ave, my car went into the shop and I had to take a bus to work near the Bayfair Mall. At the time it was the 76. I could hop into my car and be at work in 12-15 minutes.
