If the Warriors move there is no way that site will be any kind of destination with just a football stadium and 8 games a year. Need to include the A's if they want to make it anything more than a stadium and parking lot.

Well there still might be concerts and the like but Im sure a new waterfront arena in the city would steal a huge chunk of the business from Oracle....but I would like to see some fresh ideas that are more dramatic. I have long felt that these autocentric stadiums surrounded by massive parking lots waste a lot of valuable space that could and should be used to integrate the stadium with the surrounding neighborhoods-this is why I support downtown stadiums cause annoying and unsightly parking lots are less of an issue.

This is going to be another bust investment for all parties involved. The location sucks, the Warriors already took off to S.F. I can't think of any reason why someone would go there after 8 NFL home games.

I personally would like to see a Coliseum City type development in Downtown around Jack London Square near Howard Terminal...

That would be nice. They can launch rockets at Candlestick from there.

Oakland should have tried harder to keep the Warriors. They're the team people universally support in the Bay(even when they weren't winning games).

The Raiders on the other hand have a love/hate relationship in the Bay Area because the 49ers are seen as the #1 football team. The Raiders still get blacked out occasionally on local TV.

Perhaps a stadium on either side of JLS might be a great way to integrate both arenas into the neighborhood. But then I wouldnt want to see the produce market displaced, maybe it could move.

First, I notice in your posts that you think the Warriors to SF idea is a done deal. Lacob's proposal doesn't appear feasible from my perspective. To be honest, I think most Oaklanders think it won't happen - and surely won't happen by 2017. There is a lot of red tape with the local SF residents - many of whom don't want it at that location, along with countless HOAs, not to mention the fact that the pier that they want it built upon is in significant disrepair. 2017 is definitely not happening. But exposing the plans makes you more marketable in NBA Free Agency around the league, so that's my take on it.

Second, there might be a love/hate relationship but it has absolutely nothing to do with the 49ers, who, you must remember were absolutely one of the worst football teams in the league for a full decade before their recent resurgence. The love/hate relationship between Raiders and Oakland has everything to do with them bolting for Los Angeles at a critical time. Many of the 20-30 somethings in the East Bay had no team to root for except for San Francisco during that stretch when the Raiders were quite competitive down in L.A. Those feelings just haven't yet been mended and won't be until the new generation gets to witness consistent, good football out of Oakland.

That's my point. Many of the current gen of football fans remember the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. VERY few remember when the Raiders were in the Bay Area before they went to L.A, that's why the 49ers are #1 right now even with their poor playoff contention chances earlier in the 2000s (they still sold out every game).

The Raiders on the other hand regularly get blacked out. Why is that?

As for the S.F Warriors deal, it's done and signed. You can have your opinion on that, but until the team owners say "it's not happening anymore", hope you don't mind if I disregard your theory.
