Bay Area Counties
Jeez, make a wry comment on these CA threads, and suddenly you're embroiled in a political debate.

This is a definition of "Bay Area" that you're assuming. Others may not share this definition. I doubt many would consider Gilroy, Altamont, Dixon, Lake Berryessa, Calistoga, Pescadero, Gualala or Rio Vista (awfully close to Sac'to) as "Bay Area". I suppose we should give this topic its own thread, since we're off the OP's topic.

Yeah I don't buy the 9 County definition at all. Vacaville is closer to Sac than S.F.

The reason this topic went off into the weeds is because the lacking factor in the debate is realistic convenience. For most people, the far-flung burbs aren't going to cut it. For others- I suppose so. But in addition to that, I don't think its out of the question to assert that most people would agree to what is generally within the bounds of the immediate Bay Area. Home price is one thing. Proximity to the city and immediate core Bay Area is another.

The OP did clarify that he doesn't need to be in the city, because he works from home. He seems to just want relatively easy access to the amenities of the city. I think he should clarify what he's looking for. Is it just proximity, or a certain level of sophistication (that probably would let Concord out), urban feel, rural feel, at this point we have no clue.

I think it's safe to assume that Gilroy, Gualala and Altamont are out, though, lol!

Not political, just posting facts.

No way, Dixon is considered Bay Area right?

I hear a call for the official Fresnan to render a verdict.

Dixon is not part of the Bay Area. So sayeth Senno. That's 2 verdicts today. My dockets getting crowded.

You may return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Judge Senno, I move that all cow towns be rendered unqualified for "Bay Area" status in perpetuity.

The bickering and negativity on this board coupled with the insane cost of living are precisely why I dislike living here. :/

lol! You can't see the tongue-in-cheek humor in some of these posts? This is why the Bay Area is under-appreciated.
