You're right, they mostly live in Fremont or Sunnyvale because they're Indians who are scared of venturing outside of their ethnic group.

some hipster transplants up in sf who dont know any better must have started this argument silicon valley is just the modern name for the main part of the santa clara valley. sf could no more be the capital of silicon valley than san jose could be the capital of the ohio valley

and besides nobody up there evenknows how to pronounce "silicon" correctly anyhow
