Sporty&Misty Yeah, we got them flush toilets too, even the water savin ones
Glad your getting a laugh out of this!
18Montclair: can't seem to see the humour and hasn't figured that there being Mind F*****
San Francisco is an OLD city, it has more history than Phoenix, that's what makes it greater.
But we are a New Modern growing city.
and we have came up pretty fast in the past few decades.
and it's not all just about the cheap housing, this is a desirable climate for some people.
Why do you think so many retire here or vacation here.
what would San Francisco actually have, if they didn't have the Tech industry on there doorstep?
And there Government! Im not even going to go there.
Is San Francisco Going Bankrupt? | Reset San Francisco Discussion
if it wasn't for Technology, I believe San Francisco would be going the way of Detroit and my once beloved Cleveland.
But we seem to be doing pretty well here in Phoenix.
We have a government that actually works. Were doing pretty good at managing our water supplies. ~San Francisco, you are welcome to migrate here once your water has run dry~ But leave your "Socialist Ideaology behind"
it doesn't work and it never will.
You can Spout off all the facts you want, But the facts I posted do show, we are an Up and Coming city.
And as you can see when the Tech bubble burst this is what happened to San francisco.
San Francisco Becomes Fastest-Shrinking U.S. City
So you see, it's Technology, thats propping up S.F.
It's a wonderful Tourist destination, especially for us Desert dwellers, when we want a blast of Fog and Chilly air.
So maybe selling it more as a tourist destination. you don't want to have your economy revolve around just one industry.
and 18Montclair also can't seem to understand, Im not downgrading his city, Im just proving the facts.
1. I never said Phoenix was San Francisco, We are our own Beast!
We Operate differently down here and were just as important as any other large american city.
But San Francisco is NOT New York or L.A. it never was and never will be.
it's not even in the same ball game and now that you have priced out all your blue collar industry and just seem to coddle the tech industry, if that was to ever crash again, you would probably be no more relavant than say someplace like Indianapolis or Kansas City.
and the reason all your home and rental prices are going up, is because the high tech wages.
it's "The Market" if tech was to have congregated here, we would have the same high rents.
You really need to figure out how the world works.
But if your name on here 18Montclair is a reference to your AGE then your forgiven for being so Naive and uninformed.

OH and also, We Don't coddle Illegal Invaders here either.
if your not a documented citizen of this country, you don't have any right to be here.
Arizona Gets this and passed sufficient laws, if you want a horde of unskilled illegals living in your state then go right ahead. OH Wait, you don't need Immigration laws in california, You just price all your un-desirables out of your neighborhoods.
I see your mentality from other posts on here.
San Franciscans Don't mind if average Joe or Jane serves there coffee or works in there retail establishments, Just Don't Live in S.F. you poor people need to commute to the East Bay.
That is so F***** UP!
We don't have that issue here our working class can live pretty much anywhere in the area.

You need to realize your city is not everything to everyone.
Im not Knocking San Francisco, I love to spend time there on vacation.
But places like Cleveland and Phoenix are not just after thoughts.
San Francisco population 825,863
Phoenix Population 1,513,367
Yeah explain that one.
For a city thats just an after thought, we sure are growing.
OH and by the way we have a "Chipotle" restaurant But we won't get all uppity about that now
Cute, he doesn't get the who primary statistical area thing...

I leave you with these facts!
You can't dismiss the truth "Read it and weep"
Why Phoenix?

OH! But I will still come visit your chilly foggy city, I never said I didn't love it.
It's a great place to get away from it all and relax for a week or two.

Have you ever been to Phoenix, there might be areas of our metroplex that might seem that way to you. but have you ever seen the new modern downtown core or been out to the Biltmore shopping area or to Scottsdale, Hardly what I would call "Trailer Parkish"
kind of gives you that Los Angeles in the desert feel.
in fact Ive heard other people say, that it's starting to feel that way.
Seriously dude you need to travel more. and when your in a new city, get to see the whole of the city, not just the area around the "Greyhound station" where you got off your bus.
I've been to Phoenix. "Dallas in the Desert" is more like it, and that isn't meant as a compliment. In fact, you sound rather like the Texas posters who tout things like their cheap houses and In-N-Out locations as proof that you can have everything California does at a lower price. You are wrong. You've been dazzled by shiny mirrored glass.

You spent two weeks in San Francisco and thought it was like Cleveland. I'd bury that headline if I were you, particularly when telling someone else he doesn't get out enough.

There are plenty of places to relocate from the Bay Area without being Arizona or Texas or some other place which will turn Mad Max over water supplies in the next 20 years. Think different™

LOL

He rode a city bus and decided this made him an authority on the socio-economic state of San Francisco.

Phoenix and Cleveland attract the sort of people with the mediocre ambition that is required to live there.

Sometimes I must remember to be mindful of the ignorant and uninformed.

Considering SF and its surrounding region is wealthier, better educated, more cultured, more sophisticated, more diverse and far more elegant than just about anywhere, please inform 'the rest of the nation' that we barely acknowledge their existence, let alone care about their toothless, inbred chuckles.

Just continue buying and using our technology and step aside while we continue to innovate the world.

Yeah we may have a dumpy side of town "Maryvale" But So does San Francisco, Ive seen the Tenderloin and heard about Visitacion and hunters point, So you have some pretty trailer trash areas as well.
I live in a sort of "Alternative" Hipsterish type of neighborhood, There are No Trailers here.
You need to see the Phoenix of Today! It's not like it was 10 years ago.
And what is this Sophistication you keep harping about, San Francisco is nice as a tourist destination, You get to see the Ocean and the Fog, a laid back sort of vibe.
you got some history, but most cities have there own history.
Look at My old Hometown for example "Were The Rock Music capital of the world"
and there was a lot of Financial history there at one time.
in fact Cleveland was once The number 5 city in the USA in the 1920's
San Francisco only made it as far as number 8 and that was like in 1880.
right now your city is number 14.
and you can't include other cities like oakland or san jose, they are there own cities.
you don't see cleveland taking in Akron and canton and youngstown to make itself appear bigger.
And if your looking for sophistication, you should turn to Los Angeles, Or New York.
the number 1 and 2 cities in our nation.
Sorry to bust your bubble. but your just a nice city with a big Tech industry some financial and marketing, with a cool moist climate.
what makes that "Sophisticated"???
You need to grow on what your city is Today and not live on it's past.
That's the mistake my hometown made and now there stuck.
Don't be a living Museum. if you look at San francisco it's feeling like a Huge city museum.
You have the Hippie counterculture museum in the Haight, the Gay Museum in Castro. and the Asian Museum in Chinatown, more museums than actual living neighborhoods.
none of the regular people that started those neighborhoods can even afford to live there anymore.
What is Haight street now other than a tourist trap, yeah, you can stand on the corner and have ice cream at ben & Jerry's thats sophistication Mmm Hmm!
You're nuts if you think Phoenix is 'nice'. It's one of the most depressing cities I've ever been to. 'Old Town' Scottsdale is a total joke, yet for some reason people always bring it up when trying to defend dumpy Phoenix proper. You are certainly entitled to your own opinions, but brining up Cleveland and Phoenix and trying to compare them to SF is absolutely insane. Get out and travel more. You sound like you grew up in a really small town in the middle of nowhere.
