If he does it to me I will say thank you for the bracelet and keep on trucking!

So, we agree after all. That's a completely reasonable response to this scam tactic.

I say to each their own when dealing with an aggressive scammer.

Of course. That's a strange thing to say, though. We are always free to interact with anybody however we see fit. We should expect to be judged for our behavior, though.

Thanks for steering things back on topic.

Judge all you want if that's what your into...but referring to someones post as "ramblings of an insane person" is a bit much and totally uncalled for.

Then adding your usual it's all about me, myself and I's experience, which is the only valid version has grown old and tired.

I still don't understand what you mean. Again, please expound.

People who work in the area and are there all the time are left alone, because they don't engage the scammers. That's how it works in every other city with a lot of foot traffic, too.

I am occasionally approached by these guys, but move right past them with a "no, thank you" and no other drama. I will say that there was one time I was sitting out on the patio having lunch at Gott's with some friends, my sister, her husband and their kids. My sister is from out of town. We were a table of about 10. We looked pretty much like tourists.

While I was looking away, one of the "bracelet monks" walked up to our table, handed a bracelet to my nephew and tried to get a donation from my sister. She refused, but the monk persisted and was playing his case more to my young nephew, who didn't know what to do. About this time, I turned and saw what was going on.

There was no need to scream or run at the person, though. I didn't threaten to take my belt off and hit him with it, or crush his head, either. I simply pointed at him and sternly said, "No. Go on. Now!" and he left.

As soon as he realized he wasn't dealing with a confused tourist, he knew he wasn't getting any money out of us. So, don't act like a tourist. Don't engage people dressed as monks who wander up to you in tourist spots and you won't have any issues with them.

Haven't you guys ever walked in a crowded urban environment before?
Soooooooo

No, I'm not okay with people hustling tourists. What gave you that idea?

I am myself gay, but when a total random gay guy touched my ass in a mall (Westfield) while passing by me I just wanted to hit him. It was totally not ok.

I will purposely let them out those stupid things on me, just so I can walk off with it for free. It's the only way those scum feeders will learn their lesson. I'll be waiting for one of them to put a hand on me so I can really let them have what they deserve. Sorry, but I refuse to bend over and take it while these idiots try to ruin our city.
