Best I can say about these is that they can be fun for big groups...but then it’s more about the company than the food.
I spent time in Korea and never had the BBQ over there. I was there primarily during the winter months where it was the coldest place I've ever been in my life. We primarily ate a Korean soup in the winters since it was so cold and I'd stir in a nice healthy dose of kimchi into it.

I have dated a number of Korean chicks in the bay area and they are the ones who turned me on to the do it yourself Korean BBQ. After all, the ingredients are all made up at the restaurant by Koreans plus all the little side dishes of kimchi, and the Korean chicks love it so it must be like in Korea. The meat is brought to the table already marinade Korean style and the reddish paste that you eat with the grilled meat, garlic and peppers wrapped up in various lettuce greens. I also love to add in the steamed rice with kidney beans and/or sweet potato. One Korean chick I used to date would take kidney beans and/or diced up sweet potato and cook it with rice in the rice cooker. That was so good. My favorite Korean food is Bulgogi, bibimbop and gimbap.

I prefer Afghan cuisine better than Indian cuisine, I think Afghan cuisine seems to be less spicey, and less herbal than Indian food.

That's true. I've gone to Kabul and it was outstanding. I've also had friends of mine who are from India and Nepal and they made the food less herbal and/or spicy. It's so good when they tone that stuff down a bit. Between the two (Nepal and India), I prefer Nepalese food. Not sure why, if they prepare it differently or use different spices and whatnot. BTW - I've only eaten Indian and Nepalese food prepared and served at homes, not restaurants. So I wouldn't know a good restaurant for ether type of food.

I love both!

There is an Indian Restaurant in Redwood City called Broadway Marsala...they make very good Indian food.

However Persian food trumps all IMO. I could eat it every single day and never grow tired of it.
