I like it when it's chilly having lived in hot climates for most of my life.

Well, at least during this current Heat Wave, while Bay Area burbs are sweltering in triple digits, San Francisco might actually break 70°! :-)

Well its 36.7°C and sunny right now there. Most of the time its mild to warm. Oh, and they get over 3000 hours of sunshine a year, quite the opposite of depressing really.

Hey, don't bring facts in here to this discussion. Obviously, only weather from late May to August defines SF weather. Those other months don't count!

I love Pt. Reyes. Truly one of my most favorite places in CA. But, yeah, it is quite foggy. One of the most foggy places in North America (And I believe in the world, actually).

And it says the rest of the year is SLIGHTLY cooler. I'd be wearing shorts and a t shirt for 10 months of the year. Today its 104 degrees, hottest day in history.

I would imagine for those not used to persistently cloudy or foggy and cool weather, it would be as depressing as bloody hell.

Since most people in the world live in places that are less sunny than San Francisco, I should imagine this would be the exception not the norm.

Average annual sunshine:

World ~2600 hours

San Francisco 3016 hours
