From a tourist point of view San Francisco is full of wonder because how many different neighborhoods there are and how they compare and different from each other.

I have been on vacation there before but we only drove around most places. I did my research before wandering off in the city. I want to know which park is the safest, walkable, mainly flat and not easy to get lost in.

My one trip to Golden Gate Park left me wanting more. I felt lost in the beginning at first. I couldn’t find my way out of the entrance I started in. Then I ended up by Kezar Stadium out of all places.

Buena Vista Park, Bernal Heights Park, and Alamo Square Park all seemed to be simple to navigate. My next vacation I will be sure to spend more time outdoors.

Golden Gate Park is the biggest. Land's End/Sutro Baths might be the most dramatic for as small as it is, and there is a sizable number of people to help with navigation. But it's not flat at all. If you want flat, I guess there's Crissy Field (with views of the Golden Gate Bridge) and anything along the Embarcadero (mostly just a street).

Land's End and Fort Funston are not very crowded. Also, Milagra Ridge is a good park in the suburb Pacifica. Al three have views unique to the Bay Area.

We’ve always enjoyed walking at Crissy Field. Enjoy the scenery and breezes.

I would start at Legion of Honor, then go right towards the end of the Land’s end trail and then walk on land’s end trail towards ocean beach. If you can keep going after that, I would enter golden gate park through the ocean beach entrance ( by windmill) and make my way towards the botanical garden via stow lake and explore the garden or the japanese gardens.

Just checked Google, John Muir Woods is 17 miles north of San Francisco.

Years ago, while living in Oakland, our neighbors relatives/friends came fro Finland
My Pop, drove all of us there. As it was years ago, would you recommend the drive ?

Muir Woods is awesome but super crowded. You need reservation now to park I think. I would recommend Anderson State Park as a much less crowded and equally good alternative. It is a bit further away

What/where is Anderson State Park? Google searching doesn't seem to find many results?

Did you, by chance, mean to say Amstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve?
