Hi, I'm working with some people to start a food cooperative where the Walgreens used to be (around MacArthur and 106th). Is someone interested in getting involved so that we can bring a healthy food venue into our community? Please email me brmunoz@gmail.com.

Thank you,

Brenda

I'm not familiar with how a food cooperative functions...

We had community gardens in the past... the high water bills caused their demise for the most part.

Formerly the Walgreen's site was a store, grand auto, hardware and other things...

Believe it or not, Foothill Square was vibrant at one time... banks, food court and assorted shops with a Lucky and Thrifty... I remember the center gave away a brand new Cessna airplane in the 1970's and there were other events too.

Ultra, I found plans to remake Foothill Square, but the plans were supposed to be done already...

Foothill Square Redevelopment Project, Oakland, CA Jay-Phares Corporation

Was this one of those things that was proposed under Jerry Brown and stopped under the Inivisible Mayor Do-Nothing?
