Good, we don't need another case of yellow fever.

The Marina neighborhood in SF. Otherwise, go to LA.

Definitely not going to catch yellow fever anytime soon. I guess my best bet might be just to live in the city and commute out to Emeryville. Perhaps, I can just 'Bart it, I have to check the address of my new employer.

I think I worded my original post in poor taste. By hot girl, I really meant girls who are a little loose, like to party, and have fun. I'm definitely not looking for the bookworm type of girl (there is nothing wrong w/ it, just not my style). I'm just use to blonde, state school, sorority girls who like to go out on a Friday night and watch the big college game on Saturday.

The great thing about getting a little older is that us guys get to date more well-rounded women. In high school in college, people tend to be more pigeon-holed into one or two categories. Jock, nerd, partier etc. Everybody is really only one or at most two of those. As people get older-if they live in any progressive city anyway-they expand their horizons and can be a little of a lot of categories. They can be smart and responsible and athletic and enjoy a night out on the town! You'll find many women like this in San Francisco. Which is awesome.

I interviewed for a job last week in Emeryville and got the it. I'm stoked, but am still trying to get more information on the area.

Money isn't too much of an object as I would just be renting a 1 bedroom apt. I'm hoping to get a place under $1500/month. The big question is where should I live?

Since I'm moving out there solo, I would like to live in an area where there are a lot of cool, laid back blonde California girls. Here in Fort Lauderdale, there are certain neighborhoods where good looking people hang out (beach, downtown). Where would be the equivelant be in the Bay Area. I'm not interested in living around cosmopolitian, liberal elitist type of girls. Nor do I care to meet Asian girls (no offense to anyone, but I heard that is popular on the west coast ). Just looking for a neighborhood where there are down to earth, pretty girls that like to go to bars, football games, etc. How is Emeryville itself to live in? Any other recomendations?

Emeryville's ok to live in but for a high concentration of blondes, try Chestnut st. in the Marina district of San Francisco. 2nd would be Union st. which is just a few blocks away.

Not too many Asian girls there, mostly white and blondish. 3rd is Fillmore st. which runs into Union and Chestnut also. Oh and lots of bars and restaurants. Happy hunting!

This has been an entertaining thread

IMO I would say SF Club scene has the 'Hottest' that i've seen. Santana Row comes in second.

Thanks for the recommendations Kristen. I've done some online browsing for a studio in the Marina District. Very pricey, but the buildings have phenomenal architecture and it's close to everything in SF.

I'm really looking forward to meeting some of the locals in SF and getting into the scene. A big thank you to all of you City-Data folks for steering me in the right direction

I find this to be very interesting. As someone who is not from the Bay Area, I imagine cities like Oakland and Richmond to be "tough" cities. Places where you'd have to toughen up a bit to be comfortable there. I assumed SF has parts like that too. Anyway anyone can elaborate on this?
