I personally don't think that towns in the Monterey Bay Area are a good alternative to Los Gatos. They are pretty and on the water, but weather it totally different, and the job market is not nearly as good.

My recommendation would be to look at somewhere on the east bay, such as Danville. Similar demographics to Los Gatos, easy access to SF, warm weather and cheaper (not cheap) available housing.

Saratoga, Los Altos, Mountain View, Monte Sereno, Woodsode, Portola Valley.

I second San Francisco too especially sans kids at home.

Fair enough and i tespect your position. Know though that Ive been reading these threads for 15 years and I have learned a lot, from all over the country - and Ive never posted a question as an original poster
