The move to Osprey is getting closer and we will be seeking recommendations for various things. First, we wish to express that we very much appreciate whatever feedback & insight that anyone has to share. Thank you so much! Today we are concerned with finding out about a good primary care physician, a good dentist, and a good veterinarian that anyone can recommend within a reasonable distance from & around Osprey. We are 2 senior citizens with a senior cat that gets various medications. For all: Male or Female - OK. Primary Care Doctor: MD or DO – OK. We may ask about more specific specialists later. Dentist: Generous with novocaine (lol). We can then see who among the doctors & dentists recommended are in our healthcare provider networks. Veterinarian: Preferably, one who is experienced with cats who have CRF and hyperthyroidism, and someone who has proven to be competent and caring in general. It goes without saying, we want to avoid anyone who has gained a track record of being gouge-worthy. Thanks!

Our daughter and SIL have two cats--one of whom has had serious problem with seizure disorder and persistant bladder problem. They have always gone to Brandt veterinary clinic. The owner has sold the practice recently, but they are pleased with the new vet.

Just spent the afternoon looking for a female Primary Care doctor in Venice. Called 8 offices before I found one taking new patients. My initial patient visit is scheduled for next available- Feb 2!

We were unable to find a recommendation for a dentist that is on any of the big dental insurance provider lists. We had to switch to a plan that would let us see any dentist in order to see a recommended dentist. You can search the forum for other names as this question has been asked previously.

For Vet we use Dr. Stephen Gottschalk who is a mobile vet. We have had to put two kitties to sleep recent (brothers, less than a month apart - liver cancer, brain tumor). He is such a wonderful and compassionate vet. One fee and he will see all of your critters. For our past appt, he came to our house at 11:00pm and was here well past midnight. Such a good doc!
Not the cheapest - he is affiliated with Bee Ridge Vet Clinic. But super compassionate and great with cats (we don't have dogs, just cats).

We had a mobile vet in Upstate NY and have two ferals. I researched him before we moved down. Really good and compassionate.
