Are are fixing to move to Savannah to take a position near the airport. We have narrowed down the area to Rincon or Pooler.

I would like to ask for a recommendation for a preschool for a 4 year old in either town. We would like something where our child is going to be prepared for kindergarten, not looking for daycare as we can homeschool.

Thank you,

Doesn't make any sense. Why worry about kindergarten prep if you plan to homeschool?

Sorry for the confusion. We want kindergarten prep type program.

Do not want daycare.

Can someone recommend a good preschool program in either town?

Georgia offers public pre-K, though admission is limited. It might be too late to get your child into a public program. If so, there are plenty of private pre-K programs. Savannah Christian is one. Many churches also have pre-K programs.

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately we missed the public pre-k lottery.

We have looked at some of the private programs including churches. However we are overwhelmed by the number. So just looking for a recommendation to narrow down the search.

There are private state-certified pre-K programs as well. You may have already discovered those. If the school is state certified, receives and portion of state funding and thus abides by the state curriculum, it's probably OK. If all you are asking about is a recommendation for the best one, I'm not sure anybody on here is going to be able to help. I am not aware of a regular CD member from the Savannah area who has children in that age bracket.

Also, I have found that most large churches have fairly good early childhood programs. First Baptist Church Rincon offers Pre-K and has excellent children's facilities. Check them out.
