Hi all,

Ok, boredom is not generally seen as a positive trait, but I'm serious: I want to live in the most boring neighborhood in Seattle, and I'd like advice as to where everyone thinks that is. Within city limits only, as I'm aware of the suburban options and they're not an option (for reasons too long to detail here).

I'm getting older, could care less about nightlife, and just want quiet. I suppose one could get a loud, jerky neighbor anywhere, but I'm just looking for the best odds that I won't. I'll be looking to rent a house. I'm currently on Bainbridge & work in Seattle, but the commute is wearing on me.

My guesses so far after living in the area for about 6 months: Magnolia or Crown Hill/Broadview (or whatever people actually call north-of-Ballard).

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Most anything north of Greenlake or south of I90 will do. You probably won't find Redmondesque-levels of sleepiness anywhere inside city limits though...

I'd concur that Magnolia is tops for boring. Not much there other than residential and the park, and it's fairly isolated.

Greenlake away from the lake and central business area there.

Pretty much any neighborhood will be "boring" when it comes to noise and stuff if you live 3-4 blocks away from the major streets.

But for uniform boredom, check out West Seattle away from California, Fauntleroy, and the water. Magnolia I agree will be pretty quiet, if you can afford it.

"north of Ballard" is pretty uniformly boring. Until you hit Greenwood.

Also, look east of UW. Windemere is pretty boring, but still pricey.

North Beach, Blue Ridge, or Broadview.

I'd vote for Magnolia too. It's pretty and it's quiet. The park is safe and has few or no beggars.
