I am currently a police officer in Houston. My fiance is from the Seattle area and we would like to move to that area so she could be closer to her family. I am originally from the Connecticut/New York City area. I have been in Houston for the last three years and I do not know much about the Seattle area.

I am interviewing with Kent and Auburn in a few weeks. I have some questions about these departments. I am also looking at Vancouver, but I will inquire about their dept on their forum.

1, How are the officers at the Kent and Auburn police depts? Are they professional and polite? I want to work with well rounded officers and not with paramilitary robots.

2, How are the community relations with those depts? Are the officer well respected or is there an "us VS them" mentality?

3, How would you compare Kent to Auburn? Is one town much nicer than the other?

4, Do the mayors and chiefs of these towns give the proper support to their officers?

I thank you for any input you can offer.
